Charles is an entrepreneur, adviser and analyst with twenty years of diverse commercial experience, from family office to Foreign Office. He's co-founded seven ventures, scouted for Venture Capital investors, run aviation operations and worked in Embassies abroad for the British government.

From bootstrapping first SaaS startup revenue to working on nine-figure Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects with institutional investors, it's fair to say his experience is broad-based and international - having worked in the public and private sectors across EMEA, North America and South East Asia.

From sourcing FinTech startups in London to selling intelligence services to Rolls-Royce, there's been one thread throughout Charles' professional life; an obsession with frontier technologies and their commercial application.

In the early 2000s it was search engines, social networks and Natural Language Processing (NLP). In the 2010s he was immersed in offshore wind and software-as-a-service startups. A subsequent foray into financial innovation was followed by a stint running low-level fixed wing and rotary flight operations for a family office.

 

Most recently Charles has returned to Artificial Intelligence (AI), worked on data centre projects to support cutting-edge  Machine Learning (ML) workloads and explored the intersection of autonomous systems and edge compute - with applications as diverse as drone detection and biodiversity monitoring. It's seen him prototype acoustic sensors, train neural networks and explore the bleeding edge of drone innovation in dual use contexts.

As comfortable with commercial, comms. and public speaking tasks as he is with a soldering iron and Raspberry Pi in our prototyping studio - Charles is our Founder, Managing Director and sets the vision and direction for the business.
