MACHINE AUGMENTED INTELLIGENCE
Osinto is a distributed research and intelligence lab exploring the cutting edge of 'augmented intelligence'. We are driven by a belief that humans and machines can (and should) work together - in a process that sees us accelerate human ingenuity with cutting edge machine learning (ML) / artificial intelligence (AI).
We are sector-agnostic - driven by a focus on positively disruptive, bleeding-edge technologies and approaches. From building domain-specific knowledge graphs to mapping etymologies or supply chains - we seek to answer important questions for our clients about What's coming next?
Through one-off Research Projects or Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) INVESTIGATIONS
On an ongoing basis, via bespoke Intelligence Briefing or scouting programmes
Or with hands-on tests and experiments as part of our in-house Labs initiative
We've worked with / for startups, family offices, venture investors, publicly listed corporations and governments - but our approach is always the same - tell us what you know, and we'll show you what you don't
MARKETS: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE / MACHINE LEARNING
NATURAL LANGUAGE PROCESSING (NLP)
The Osinto team have been working with Natural Language Processing (NLP) for more than 15 years - from the early days of sentiment analysis and summarisation to more advanced Natural Language Generation (NLG) in production AI chatbots deployed for Fortune 500 clients.
KNOWLEDGE GRAPHS & NEURAL NETWORKS
When it comes to AI we're always learning and building. From bespoke knowledge graph architectures and fine tuning Large Language Models (LLMs) to specialised computer vision, navigation and object detection systems.
Join us in experimenting at the forefront of technology and intelligence.
The apparent end of 'Moore's Law' sees today's software more compute-bound than ever - the more processing power a company has access to, the better its product. We explore everything from the geopolitics of semiconductor fabrication to the rise of GPU-accelerated compute architectures to power generative AI models.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML) enable us to yield powerful tools for managing and manipulating information - they serve already as both powerful augmentations to human intelligence and emergent (albeit narrowly specialised) intelligences in their own right.
Often, however, the outputs of automated systems aren't reliable - and that's a problem. How an ML model arrives at a given result can be unclear. The underlying processes used to achieve AI-accelerated results are often as opaque as the architectures of the systems or the data used to train them.
At Osinto we are exploring - with interest and intrigue - the plethora of new capabilities AI / ML systems enable. But we also believe that when gathering and processing information from which to provide reliable intelligence - be it commercial, geopolitical and/or mission critical - it's important to keep a human-in-the-loop.
We believe in the enduring power and value of the human mind - we value 'organic' intelligence as much as its synthetic counterpart. Working at the intersection of biological and artificial neural networks - weaving knowledge between our minds and digital data structures - helps us process and understand it better.
We call this messy, evolving process of humans and machines learning together - Augmented Intelligence.
MARKETS: AVIATION & AEROSPACE
From electric vertical takeoff and landing or eVTOL air taxis, through 19-seat or less commuter aircraft up to MW+ commercial airliners - we've extensively researched this emerging segment of sustainable aviation.
DRONES / UAVs
From small multicopters to high endurance fixed wing architectures - we bring our in-house expertise in low airspace aviation operations to analysis of drone / UAV markets - keeping abreast of cutting-edge technologies and they real-world applications.
From mapping the market for launch providers to benchmarking satellite manufacturers or mega-constellations to satcoms and space sustainability - we've monitored the full spectrum of space derived services, their commercial and geopolitical implications.
OSINT: OPEN SOURCE INTELLIGENCE
Open Source Intelligence or 'OSINT' has come of age in the 2020s - it is nothing more complicated than turning publicly available information into actionable intelligence.
From near realtime battlefield information changing the face of warfare, to Large Language Models (LLMs) hoovering up vast archives of information from the web to create complex maps of semantics and meaning - the world is awash with information and, unfortunately, disinformation.
Making sense of this deluge of data is of course difficult - and that's our focus. Our Research and Intelligence projects focus on defining questions at the outset and delivering verifiable answers.
Delve through our archive of insights for just a few examples of how our OSINT Investigations can uncover surprising insights into anything from which li-ion batteries a competitor might be using to where the competition are buying their semiconductors.
